American, British and Canadian D-Day sites, without rushing through Normandy in a single day.

Home / Tours / The Normandy Experience (2 Day)

Discover the full story of the Allied landings in Normandy during an immersive two-day battlefield tour based in the historic town of Bayeux.

From the American airborne battlefields and the sands of Omaha Beach to the British and Canadian landing sectors at Gold and Juno, this tour follows the events of June 6, 1944, across the breadth of the Normandy invasion area.

Walk through preserved German gun positions, stand on the beaches where Allied soldiers came ashore and follow the footsteps of the paratroopers who landed behind enemy lines during the opening hours of D-Day.

Day 1: American Airborne & Omaha Beach

The first day begins with the American airborne landings west of Sainte-Mère-Église, where paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions descended into the fields and villages of Normandy during the early hours of June 6, 1944. Walk in the footsteps of Easy Company and learn about the assault on the German artillery positions at Brécourt Manor before the dramatic battlefield at Pointe du Hoc and the Normandy American Cemetery.

  • Sainte-Mère-Église and the American airborne landings
  • Easy Company and Band of Brothers locations at Brécourt Manor
  • Carentan battlefield and causeway
  • Pointe du Hoc
  • Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery
Return to Bayeux: approx. 5:00 PM

Day 2: Gold Beach, Juno Beach & Pegasus Bridge

The second day explores the British and Canadian sectors of the D-Day battlefield, from the German gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer and the Mulberry Harbour remains at Arromanches, into the Canadian sector at Juno Beach, concluding at Pegasus Bridge, where British airborne troops landed by glider during the opening minutes of D-Day.

  • Longues-sur-Mer German artillery battery
  • Gold Beach and Arromanches-les-Bains, with the Mulberry Harbour remains
  • Juno Beach and the Canadian landing sector
  • Pegasus Bridge and the story of the glider assault
Return to Bayeux: approx. 5:00 PM
