Discover the remarkable history, culture and scenery of Normandy during a five-day journey based in the historic city of Caen.
From the airborne landing grounds and invasion beaches of D-Day to the medieval splendour of Mont-Saint-Michel, this tour explores the many stories that have shaped Normandy. Follow the American paratroopers through the fields around Sainte-Mère-Église, stand on the sands of Omaha, explore the British and Canadian landing sectors and visit the site of the daring assault on Pegasus Bridge.
Beyond the battlefields, travel through the picturesque villages of the Pays d'Auge, sample the flavours of Normandy along the Route du Cidre and discover the historic towns of Lisieux, Cabourg and Bayeux.
Day 1: Sainte-Mère-Église & the American Airborne
Travel inland from Utah Beach to the landing grounds of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. Visit Sainte-Mère-Église before following the route taken by American paratroopers toward Carentan, and walk in the footsteps of Easy Company near Brécourt Manor. The day also includes a visit to a traditional Normandy caramel producer.

Day 2: The Normandy Cider Route, Cambremer & Lisieux
Begin in Beuvron-en-Auge, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in France, then continue along the Route du Cidre to Cambremer for a distillery visit and regional tastings, before the Basilica of Sainte-Thérèse in Lisieux and the seaside resort of Cabourg.

Day 3: Mont-Saint-Michel
Travel west through the Normandy countryside to Mont-Saint-Michel for a guided tour of the remarkable hilltop abbey and free time to explore the medieval island village.

Day 4: William the Conqueror to the Longest Day
Begin in Caen with the burial place of William the Conqueror before travelling to historic Bayeux and its cathedral, then on to Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery.

Day 5: Gold Beach, Juno Beach & Pegasus Bridge
Begin at the German gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer, then Arromanches-les-Bains and Gold Beach, continuing into the Canadian sector at Juno Beach before concluding at Pegasus Bridge.

The order and content of the itinerary may be adjusted because of weather, traffic, tides, opening times, battlefield access or other operational requirements. Private and customised battlefield tours are available upon request. Prices are per person.
