Explore the preserved battlefield of the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and walk through original trenches and No Man's Land. Later, venture off the beaten path at Courcelette, one of the key Canadian battlefields of the Somme. Across the Somme campaign in 1916, Canada suffered more than 24,000 casualties.
In the afternoon, visit the Amiens battlefield where the Canadian Corps spearheaded the offensive that would become the blackest day for the German army, marking the beginning of the end of the First World War.
