Travel from Arras into the heart of Canada’s First World War story, beginning with the preserved frontline trenches at Vimy Ridge and the Canadian battlefield at Hill 70 before continuing north toward Belgium and the Ypres Salient. Along the way, visit a sector associated with the famous Christmas Truce of 1914 and follow the evolution of the Western Front from the early trench battles to the great offensives of 1917.
In Flanders, stand at Essex Farm, forever associated with Canadian doctor John McCrae and his poem “In Flanders Fields,” before exploring the Battle of Passchendaele through the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917, Tyne Cot Cemetery and Crest Farm Canadian Memorial. This small-group tour combines preserved trenches, battlefield landscapes and personal stories at some of the most important Canadian sites of the Great War.
Tour itineraries may be adjusted to accommodate traffic, museum opening times, commemorative events, site accessibility or the interests of guests travelling on the day. Lunch is not included in the tour price. Private and customised battlefield tours are available on request.
